We are an
Evangelical Free Church. What does
that mean?
We're
"evangelical," which means that we
are committed to the proclamation of the
Gospel. Further, we believe that the
Scriptures are the inspired Word of God,
inerrant in their original writings...the
complete revelation of His will and the
final authority for the conduct of a
Christian life.
We're
"free," which indicates that our church is
autonomous, and expresses the idea that
our local church membership takes an
active role in choosing the directions we
take and the decisions we make. In
other words, our organizational structure
is congregational, not hierarchal in
nature.
And we are a
"church," a gathering of believers in our
Savior Jesus Christ who meet together to
worship, support each other in the faith,
and strive to do our part in the Great
Commission.
The Evangelical Free Church
of America is an association of
almost 1,450 distinct churches dedicated
to the service of our Lord Jesus Christ
with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and
obedience to the Word of God. Each
Evangelical Free Church is united with the
others in their commitment to the
principles of fellowship and cooperation
in ministry as we seek to fulfill the
Great Commission which Christ has
entrusted to His church. Please
